Purpose

Keeping performance plans up to date is essential for accountability, continuous development, and fair evaluations. By ensuring that performance plans are regularly updated, employees and managers stay aligned, fostering meaningful feedback and growth. Reporting on Open Actions provides HR admins with visibility into outstanding tasks, allowing them to identify gaps, encourage engagement, and support a structured performance management process.

Approach

WorkCompass provides the Open Actions Report feature to promote accountability and transparency in performance management. We believe that regular meetings between managers and employees are essential for maintaining alignment on goals and tasks, rather than waiting until the end of the review cycle to assess progress. By keeping performance plans updated collaboratively, this approach helps prevent the accumulation of Open Actions and ensures that both parties are on the same page.

The Open Actions Report, accessible under Insights > Open Actions, enables HR admins to easily identify outstanding tasks assigned to managers and employees. This visibility fosters a culture of continuous feedback and proactive engagement, empowering teams to stay focused and aligned on their performance objectives. By leveraging this tool, organizations can create an environment where open actions are minimized, accountability is upheld, and employee development is prioritized.

Open Actions Chart

The Open Actions chart offers a visual representation of the number of individuals (y-axis) categorized by the type of Open Actions they have (x-axis). This chart provides a quick overview of outstanding tasks across different categories, allowing HR admins to easily identify trends and prioritize follow-ups. By visualizing the distribution of Open Actions, HR admins can swiftly assess where attention is needed, ensuring timely completion and promoting accountability within the team.

Export Functionality

To facilitate effective follow-up on outstanding tasks, the Open Actions list can be easily exported to Excel format. This export includes the following essential information:

  • Employee Profile Information: Detailed information about the employee associated with the action.
  • Employee Role: The specific role of the employee related to the action.
  • Required Action: The name of the action that needs to be performed.
  • Due Date: The deadline for completing the action.

This export functionality enables HR admins and managers to efficiently identify and reach out to individuals with outstanding tasks, ensuring timely follow-ups and accountability.
