How do I complete a review as an additional reviewer?

From time to time, managers might need a second opinion. It happens. It could be for a variety of reasons, a desire to be as fair as possible to someone that maybe went above and beyond, or perhaps the other end, where someone is on a PiP, but a second pair of eyes might be welcome when it comes to a check-in or review. That’s where the Additional Reviewer feature comes in. Managers can add in Additional reviewers where they feel that additional insight may be warranted.

As an additional reviewer you can only see a reviewee's plan once it has been approved by the reviewee's Manager. Once the plan is approved, you will be able to access the reviewee's progress update/review page. You can access that at any point during the year to leave written feedback on their progress.

Generally, the review period starts 28 days before the plan's final review due date. At that time you will receive an email notification reminding you to complete the review for your reviewee. Simply click on the link in the email to be brought to the review page to complete the review.

If you are already logged into WorkCompass, you can also follow the steps below to navigate to the review:

1. Click on My Account in the top right-hand corner of the screen, then click on Profile.

2. On the right-hand side of the screen under Additional reviewees click on the reviewee's name.

3. On the next page, click on Go to review next to the plan that you would like to review. If you do not see Go to review next to the plan, this means that it still has not been approved so you will not be able to access it.

4. Provide ratings for each goal and competency and leave any comments, remembering to save them.

5. Once you are satisfied with the ratings and comments you have left, click the Complete final review button at the bottom right side of the page.

And that’s it!

Once you have completed your review it might be a good idea to check-in with the reviewees manager. This could just be a courtesy to let them know it’s done, but perhaps also an opportunity to share your insight and help them to plan for the coming review period.
